Hi! My name is Victoria Stepanets. I’m an independent art curator and cultural manager. Originally from Ukraine, live in London, graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, Curating Contemporary Art (MA).
I believe that art is much more powerful tool that we could imagine. It can be a soft power like it is used in cultural diplomacy, but it also can be a very strong power speaking about serious issues in a very direct way. Having received my first education in the field of international relations, the second - in multimedia journalism, and the third in studying contemporary art, I see how these three areas are closely interconnected. This background determined the direction of my curatorial work – to highlight acute socio-political topics through contemporary art.
I am working on a variety of international art projects trying to spread the power of art throughout the world. I’m also involved in social initiatives which I consider as the vital ones for building the better future.
Art is one of the most powerful transformative tools. Let’s use it to change this world towards a better scenario.
With regards & Victoria
Multi media projects
I believe that a multimedia approach in art is becoming increasingly vital for creating dynamic, engaging, and immersive experiences. It involves integrating multiple forms of media—such as video, sound, photography, sculpture, digital art, performance, and even interactive elements—into a single cohesive project.
Professional and
emerging artists
I prefer to work with both professional and emerging artists as it fosters a dynamic and inclusive art scene. Balancing the contributions of established artists with those of newer voices offers multiple benefits, enriching the overall experience for the public, the artists, and the curator.
Art as storytelling
In my projects, art becomes storytelling, transforming exhibitions from simple displays of objects into immersive experiences that engage audiences on an emotional and intellectual level. The power of storytelling in art curation allows the curator to weave narratives that connect pieces, create meaning, and evoke deeper responses from viewers.
