War Poetry Night

A presentation of a collection of poems about the war "Voice of the Fighting Heart" took place on January 19’2024, in Krakow, at the bookstore-cafe "Nić."

The authors of the book are Ukrainian military personnel who are currently in the hot spots of our country, protecting us from enemies every moment. Thanks to them, we, Ukrainians, wake up in the morning, have the opportunity to live, breathe freely and speak our own language. We will never understand what price they pay for us, Ukrainians, to have our "Tomorrow". For them, "writing is a way, a way to escape from reality", because this reality is inhuman. We will never fully understand what they are going through now – but through their poetry we can touch their souls a little, realize a little more what is behind "every liberated meter" of our territories...

Everyone was invited to join the evening, which was dedicated to supporting the Ukrainian heroes – the profit from the sale of books was directed to the needs of military authors.

During the presentation, performers read war poetry, which is the personification of the indomitability of the Ukrainian spirit. Poetry about war, love, romance, life. Poetry about values that no horde can destroy.

The organizer of the "Voice of the Fighting Heart" project is junior sergeant of the "Spartan" assault brigade Bohdan Nazarenko.

The organizers of the event: Vasylyna Burek, Victoria Stepanets, Olga Hryshko and Sofia Pishchanska.

Event partners: "Wernygora" Scientific Circle of Polish-Ukrainian Studies of the Jagiellonian University, "Nic" Bookstore-Coffee Shop.
